School-Based Mentoring
How it Works

Are you an adult or a high school or college student looking to connect with an elementary student? Girls/Boyz First!! is seeking the right mentors to be linked with awesome 9-13 year olds in Montpelier, Berlin, Calais, East Montpelier, Middlesex and Worcester.

Mentor/mentee pairs meet weekly for one hour. Meetings take place at the mentee's school either during lunch, or after school. Pairs create artwork, shoot hoops, play cool games, or chat about life!

If you are interested in helping a child develop problem-solving skills, make healthy choices, learn about the wider world, and have fun, then you should become a mentor!

Girls/Boyz First!! staff will offer trainings, ongoing support and resources to keep your mentor connection going. We help match mentors with mentees and set up visits at local schools.

A mentor is a positive role model, friend, companion, guide, teacher, helper… someone to dream with, a coach and a cheerleader all wrapped up in one person.

Girls and boys and their mentors join this program because it feels good to have a buddy to talk with, share things with, offer support to, and get support from in return. In other words, because it feels good and makes us happy!
